Day 1: Friday, 6th February 2009 Labels: camp
We first gathered in school in front of the function room at 5.00 pm. First,us seniors collected the penknives, handphones and accessories from all the scouts. Then we took attendance. After that, we conducted the ice breaking session (introducing ourselves and etc.). We then pitched up tents, according to our petrols. We then had time to shower. After that we were supposed to have our dinner but dinner arrived late so we had free time until the food arrived. When we ate dinner, we had to elect our fellow assistant petrol leaders and quarter masters while sitting in different boxes, according to our petrols.
It was finally class time, which means teaching for us seniors. Johann started it of with the teaching of istiadat and morning inspection while us seniors prepared the classes for sejarah pengakap and undang-undang pengakap. After that, the juniors were split into two classes; One class sejarah pengakap taught by Kareem; and the other undang-undang and persetiaan pengakap taught by Tzer Thorng, Erik and Azraei.
The juniors really needed a break from all that learning so we had a fun and games session. The game was organised by
At twelve midnight, everyone was given the option to either sleep or take tests until 2.00 am.
Day 2: Saturday, 7th February 2009
We got woken up at 6.00 am and did some morning exercises conducted by Kareem before we made our way to a cross country run. After that, each of our patrols were given a rafia string to hold on to while running so that we all jog at the same pace and so that we don't loose each other. We took around an hour to finish the race as we stopped for many breaks along the way.
We came back at 8.00 am and were given time till 9.00 am to eat, shower, prepare for morning inspection, and rest. At 9.00 am, a demonstration of morning inspection was done. Then it was time for everyone else to get checked by the morning inspectors. Many push ups were handed out during the moning inspection because we either brought something wrong, put our stuff in the wrong place, or it was just way too messily put out! We were given half an hour to pack all our stuff back into our bags and tents.
It was class time again with the teaching of knots taught by Daniel and assisted by a few of the other seniors that were free at that time. Many questions were poured out at the seniors so it made all seniors very busy. We had to extend the class because all the seniors were having difficulties in teaching many juniors the various knots.
At 1.00 pm, the cooking session started with all the ingredients brought by each and every scout with a few extra ingredients brought by the seniors. We were given until 3.00 pm to cook, eat and clean up. Unfortunately Rajawali's portable stove gas can broke into flames! The other patrols were fine, working together and having lots of fun cooking. The result was that all the patrols food were edible and none of us got any stomach aches from the food. Well done, juniors!
The classes commenced at 3.00 pm with the teaching of lambang by Wu Ping and Yu Yang. After that,
We were all told to change into black t-shirts and track bottoms that were not the nicest that we brought. Then we had the halangan komando where all scouts get wierd obstacle courses and get eggs, flour and mud thrown all over each and every one of us. We all had lots of fun doing those obstacles in our respective patrols. After that, we were given half an hour to wash up.
When we came back, each patrol was given a word to prepare a skit for malam kebudayaan. Tiong was given the word shampoo; Rajawali was given the word super; Helang was given the word spoons; and Kenyalang was given the word hook. Each of the patrols were given two whole hours to prepare their respective skits.
At 8.00 pm, the seniors prepared a barbecue dinner for the juniors. At 9.30 pm, the Malam Kebudayaan started with a treat from
Then the juniors were given the option whether to sleep or to study for their tests while the seniors were having a meeting. After that, we had an hour of test taking. Later, we all went to sleep at 12.00 am.
Day 3: Sunday, 8th February 2009
We all got woken up at 7.15 am and did some morning exercises conducted by Kareem.
Next, we were given until 9.00 am to eat, shower and prepare for morning inspection. At 9.00 am that day, less push ups were handed out because the scouts were more familiar with the placings of their stuff. We were all given until 10.30 am to pack up our stuff and to put away our tents. Many patrols were not very sure how to fit the tents in the small bag so the seniors had to go and help roll it all up and teach them how to fit it in the bag. At 10.15 am, everyone had to help put away the patrols' things in the scouts den (cca room).
Then it was time for test takings and studying. One test was the rukunegara which many juniors were not sure about so, Yasmin had to go to a class and start to teach the rukunegara to the fellow juniors.
After that, it was serious test taking from 11.00 am until 12.45 pm.
Finally, it was time for the istiadat penutup. Sean Poon got rewarded for becoming the first scout of 2009 and Tiong got best patrol award. We all had a good time at this camp and we are hoping there will be many more in the future.

For today, juniors were divided to 4 groups, which is Rajawali, Helang, Tiong and Kenyalang. Refer to the list at the previous post to know your patrol leaders.
For the first patrol activity, the juniors were taught about the basic command and respond for scout.
Those include 'masuk baris, senang diri, rehatkan diri, baris, baris sedia and keluar baris'
